AUTOMATIC PRO MOD RULEBOOK

  1. IHRA Top Sportsman rules apply, and must be followed by said racer, all IHRA Race procedures apply as do, IHRA Participant Conduct rules.  All safety equipment must be in date and used.
    A-  Engine must be equipped with a Engine Containment system (diaper)
    B-  Must have a fire Extinguisher System
    C-  Driver must have and wear the all Protective clothing.
  2. Vehicles:  Only door cars/trucks allowed, doors must be operational.  No
    roadsters, dragsters, or funny cars.
  3. Weight:  Per IHRA Rules:
    Small block 2000 lbs. with or without nitrous,
    Supercharged small block 2350 lbs.
    Big block entries 2350 lbs,
    Big block with Nitrous 2450lbs,
    Big Block Supercharged 2600 lbs.
    Cars must weigh if told to do so after each qualifying run and eliminations run.
  4. Transmissions:  Only converter driven transmissions allowed, NO clutches.
    Any automatic transmission allowed (including Lenco Drives and Bruno's).
    3 Speeds (3 forward gears) add 50 Lbs to your weight break.
    These rules will be revaluated after (3) races, and are subject to change
    "IF" deemed needed to keep a fair/level playing field.  Adjustments may be
    made at any time if a particular combination is determined to have an unfair
    competitive advantage.
  5. Engines:  any cubic inch, blowers allowed, NO screw-type blowers, No turbochargers, any number of nitrous systems allowed.
  6. (8) Car qualified fields.  If car counts total 16 cars or more, a 16 car field will qualify with ONLY the top 8 receiving payout.  In an effort to always have a complete field, if a qualified car breaks before first round and can not compete, the first alternate will be positioned into the field, if more than one qualified car breaks before first round the next alternate will be
    positioned, and down the line.  Qualifying runs will be made side by side, you must alternate lanes each run. 
  7. Lane Choice:  Lane Choice goes to the lowest qualified car first round.  After first round, low ET of the previous round will determine lane choice.
  8. Staging:  All staging must be in a forward motion, and under power.  Both cars/drivers must activate their Pre-Stage lights before either may advance into the stage beams. Courtesy staging will be enforced.  If a driver activates both the Pre-Stage and Stage beams before his/her opponent has Pre-Staged, he/she should back out of the Stage beam quickly or he/she will be Disqualified. Vehicles/Drivers timed out by Auto Start during qualifying will be allowed to back completely out of the beams once the other vehicle has cleared the track, the tree will be reset and the driver will be allowed one last attempt.  APMA officials and or track starter has final ruling in all matters.
  9. All cars must have APMA decal on vehicles for duration of event and vehicle number.
  10. Miscellaneous:  Class utilizes a  .400 Pro tree, Auto Start will be enabled at all tracks with those capabilities.   Competitors will have (1) shake down run, and (2) qualifying passes, time permitting.  Sportsman ladder will be in effect (ex. #1 vs .#5, #2 vs. #6, #3 vs.#7, #4 vs. #8)
  11. All Rules, decisions, and needed changes will be made by APMA Officials as deemed necessary.
