takes APMA win at Carolina Dragway

JACKSON,
SC - The Automatic Pro Mod Association completed
their 7th event of this inaugural season at Carolina Dragway
on August 19th. 12 APMA members came out to vie for the 8
car qualified field. After 2 rounds of qualifying action,
organization president Ronnie Davis held the pole with a
4.298 @ 170.95.
In the first round, Brian Neal would take the win against
previous APMA winner Russ Crump in a holeshot victory; his
4.482 @ 160.04 defeating Crump's 4.322 @ 166.68. Kenny
Kneece would run a 4.320 @ 166.85 to take the win against
Ric Fleck's 4.534 @ 161.19. Ronnie Davis took out Clarence
Cloud, a 4.322@ 171.05 to a 4.487 @ 159.12, and Dave Lambert
would win over Kip Kauffman- 4.330 @ 167.28 to a 4.487 @
159.12. In the second
round, Davis would squeak by Lambert with a small holeshot:
Davis' 4.344 @ 170.92 defeating Lambert's 4.340 @ 166.05.
Kneece took the victory over Neal with a 4.321 @ 167.30 over
a 4.690 @ 148.71.
This paired APMA owner Ronnie Davis against Kenny Kneece in
the finals. Though Ronnie got the slight advantage on the
tree, he quickly encountered tire shake and was forced to
shut off, giving Kenny's Joker's Wild team the win with a
4.328 @ 167.78.
The next Automatic Pro Mod Association event will be held at
Rockingham Dragway October 7th.
